  • Step 1

    Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  • Step 2

    Season the roast well with salt and pepper at least one hour prior to cooking.

  • Step 3

    Heat a skillet over medium heat and sear roast on all sides.

  • Step 4

    Combine garlic, ginger, ketchup, soy sauce, maple syrup, sesame oil, vinegar, salt and pepper in a bowl.

  • Step 5

    Coat the roast thoroughly with the sauce, wrap tightly in foil. Place in a shallow dish and bake at 400 degrees for 4 hours. Turn the roast every 30 minutes to allow basting within the foil.

  • Step 6

    Allow roast to rest in the foil for 30 minutes before serving.

PRO TIP: Cook roast 1 hour for every pound
